So I know it's not my monitor and probably not my settings.
So is the intro screen when you just watch the camera pan around a garage with power armor and knick-knacks in it. VATS, the hud, interface and menu screens are as vibrant as they've always been. It's kind of like trying to play a game in black and white. This washed out visual is still hanging around over a day later and I'm honestly finding it effects the enjoyment of thegame by now. I'm not really sure if I did anything there. I messed with my settings thinking maybe I did something in those that effected it (I'd started lowering some things when the game started closing of it's own accord at points). Of course, if all these bright colors are a bit much for you and you want Fallout 4 to look more like the older Fallout games, this mod has you covered. I thought maybe this is related to an addiction but turned out I'm not addicted to anything (would have been an interesting addiction effect though). I assumed maybe the game was trying to pull a black-and-white theme for that mission to go with Nick's old detective style but it's still going on much later.
Somewhere around the time Nick started following me at some point during the mission my colors became washed out - similar to how it looks when you look through certain scopes.
